How Can We Help?
Can I Customize the Interactive Web Form?
Webforms are fully customizable from the rights you offer to the questions you ask the user.
1. Creating jurisdiction rules to control rights offered per jurisdiction
Note our defaults work for global privacy laws. Only customers subscribed to enterprise may create/edit jurisdiction rules and form field set thus customizing the webform.
A jurisdiction rule is a way to offer different rights to users based on the country (and state for the USA) the consumer selects on the webform. If you select a country like France, the system will offer the rights that you have setup from a jurisdiction rule containing France. A jurisdiction rule can include many countries, so you could select all countries in Europe and set a number of rights you offer just for that region. You can get as granular as you wish.
Once your jurisdiction rules are setup, go ahead and attach it to the webform you wish to edit. You cannot apply jursidiction rules sharing the same countries or states to the same webform: the UI will prevent you doing so. A common error is including “Other” as a country in many jurisdiction rules, make sure you include it only once as a country, and once as a state; so when the consumer selects other, the system knows which jurisdiciton rule to apply.
2. Changing the questions asked to the consumer before selecting his jurisdiction
A form field set dictates what questions the user will see on the webform, and if they are required or optional. You may also set a “Primary Identifier” for one of the question you set. For instance, Email or Phone Number, or Advertising ID are popular example of primary identifier and will show up in the privacy request tab.
After saving you form field set, make sure to attach it to the webform you wish to customize.
A form field set has a default set of questions which can be removed/edited. Our default includes First Name, Last Name, Email, and I am a (Vendor, Employee, Consumer, Job Applicant, Other).
You may create entirely new questions, make them optional or required depending on your needs.
